Overview

  • To create interest in education among students.
  • To provide financial assistance for higher education.
  • To create opportunities for financial empowerment through education.
  • To implement a scholarship scheme that ensures transparency, uniformity, and avoids delays.
  • Reimbursement of all compulsory fees, such as Tuition Fees and Examination Fees, to eligible OBC girls.

Benefits

  • As per the Government Resolution (GR) dated 8th July 2024, 100% Tuition and Examination Fees will be reimbursed to girl applicants studying in government/aided/non-government/unaided institutions offering professional courses.
  • Applicants admitted to Deemed Universities for professional courses are also eligible for freeship benefits.
  • The application start date depends on the applicant’s date of admission to the institution, while the end date depends on the final examination date. (The application window typically remains open for around 10 months and varies every academic year.)

Eligibility

  • The applicant must be enrolled in a professional education course.
  • The applicant must belong to the OBC category.
  • The professional course must be approved by the government.
  • The applicant must be a resident of Maharashtra.
  • Admission must be taken in Government/Government Aided/Private Non-Aided/Permanently Non-Aided institutions.
  • For professional courses, admission through the CAP round is mandatory.
  • If the applicant fails in a particular academic year, she will receive the benefit for that year, but will not be eligible again until she is promoted to the next academic year.
  • If the applicant changes the course from professional to non-professional, she will become ineligible for the scheme.

Renewal Policy

  • The applicant must provide the marksheet of the previous academic year.
  • The scheme is applicable to only one educational course at a time and is valid until completion of that course within the specified duration.
  • The applicant must pass every academic year. In case of failure, Tuition and Exam Fees will not be reimbursed for that year.
  • If the applicant is unable to appear for exams due to medical or unforeseen circumstances, the Head of the Institution can recommend fee reimbursement, provided sufficient medical or valid documentation is submitted and accepted.

Documents Required

  • Caste Certificate – Issued by a competent authority.
  • Income Certificate / Non-Creamy Layer Certificate.
  • HSC or SSC Marksheet or the last examination marksheet.
  • Gap Certificate – Not mandatory, but required in case of an education gap.
  • Declaration by Parents/Guardians regarding the number of beneficiary children.
  • CAP Allotment Letter – For professional course admissions.
  • Caste Validity Certificate – As per GR dated 31st July 2008 (applicable only to specific professional courses; exempted courses to be identified).
  • Leaving Certificate.
  • Ration Card – To identify the number of children in the family.
